Bought a new lens recently, Tokina 20-35mm f3.5. I also went to Ottawa this past week(thanks to Jade & Joel for letting me crash)
Took some test shots of two of my roommates and Jade and I’m pretty happy. Very sharp but with some focusing troubles.

Here is our new dog Baily. He is a Havanese and we got him from animatch.ca
He’s really excitable, friendly and loyal. He wouldn’t stop moving, hence the reason why most of my pictures are pretty blurry.

Hello!

So it’s been awhile since I’ve posted some snapshots from my daily life. I’ve been out and about lately and I’m trying to capture as much of it as possible, so that being said, here goes:

1 – Coffee cup with a mustache guard from TWIGS Cafe.
2 – New straight razor, Wade & Butcher 6/8.
3 – Me before my failed attempt to shave with what I thought was a sharp razor.
4 – A spider that has been in the same spot in front of my house for two weeks, fighting a competitor.
5 – New handle bars on my bike. This bike is going to turn into my winter project.
6-8 – I’m back in Ile Perrot until November when I can find a place downtown. So until then, I’ve made my room as comfortable as possible.

There is something so dreamy about the American South. Those of you from Richmond reading this are going to laugh at that statement but believe me, from Northern eyes, it’s very true. I found myself in a constant state of joy this past weekend as I had the chance to visit Richmond, VA and Washington, DC. Everything from the white trash, confederate graveyard, eating Grits to the use of the word “ya’ll” put me in the greatest mood, followed by internal giggling.

The 15 hour train ride in and then out would have been rather difficult if it wasn’t for the 3.80gigs on This American Life podcasts I had and the book I hardly touched. Once in Richmond I found myself gourging on vegan breakfast buritos, vegan chinese food and delicious pasta on a daily basis. The weather was beyond hot, the leaves were out and the river was full of kids. I Met a lot of wonderfull people this weekend and got too see a nice little part of the country.

Thank you Shannon for hosting me and for making it a great weekend!

Hectic little while in good ol’ NDG. It’s been a few weeks of shows, parties, fire jumping and work, work, work. I finished yet another role of film, although i’m not really happy with the outcome. I need to stop trusting my light meter and I need to start start shooting one stop lower. Let’s go!

1- Ottawa with Jade and with work.
2- Picture taking with Leila
3- Walking in St-Henri to get to the 20.
4- Under the Highway 20, shooting BB’s
5- Hans.
6 & 7- It was the Persian New Year and to celebrate we jumped a fire to cleanse our “souls”

It’s been a good week. A lot of work but a huge focus was put onto my personal life. It started with a trip to Ottawa for a few days to re-vamp a stock room where I did 37 hours of work in 3 days.
Most importantly, I finally joined the YMCA this week. There is something about the YMCA that just makes me feel like a Montrealer. To celebrate, I made tons of fatty foods.

1- Walking home from St.Henri in 7 degree weather.
2- Getting closer to home on Queen Mary.
3- Walking down Fielding.
4- Vegan Carrot Muffins(to celebrate joining the YMCA)
5- Perogies and onions.
6- Vegan crepes with caramelized fruit(my dinner with Jade)
7- Jade’s weekend visit from Ottawa.
8- Jade watching me cook.
9- Jade passing along her head lice.

This past summer I bought myself something I swore to never own; a P&S camera! It was just so convenient I couldn’t resist. I keep it with me at all times and it fits right in my pocket and now i’ve started documenting more of my day to day life. The downsides are pretty obvious in that I have a roll of film in my real camera that has been there for 4 months now.

Here is my week in review:

1 –  Spent all week in Quebec City.
2 – I was there opening up a new American Apparel store.
3 – The store is in a 125 year old building complete with creppy attics.
4 – We got hit with a huge snow storm and we trekked through it for food.
5 – Most of my meals this past week were from a great vegetarian buffet.
6 – I got home saturday and went right to dinner for Adrian’s birthday.
7 – Same.
8 – Spent most of today cooking. Made a tofu/sweet potato curry.
9 – I love my kitchen.
